Florida Future Educators of America (FFEA)

Storm Grove Middle School is proud to have a new club this year called the Florida Future Educators of America! The purpose of this club is "to strive to inspire young students to consider teaching as a career, provide members with knowledge and experiences that develop qualities and aptitudes necessary for successful teaching, and to offer pre-teaching experiences that are both exploratory and developmental in nature." (The Florida Future Educators of America Handbook) So far, our Storm Grove students have completed many activities to set them on the path to becoming a teacher. We started a program called "Adopt-A-Teacher" where after school, FFEA members visit various teachers and help them with lesson planning, classroom organization, tutoring, designing bulletin boards, and other teacher-related activities. Members have also designed their own FFEA bulletin board, which is currently hanging in the 6th-grade building. Currently, members are in the process of building and designing their own lesson plans using Florida State standards and we are going to practice teaching these lessons as part of a role-play activity within the club. Later on in the year, we hope to place members in actual classrooms to teach a short lesson to their fellow students. Our FFEA members are very excited about these new challenges and it has opened their eyes to what teaching is all about!

Yearbook

Students assist in designing the yearbook, photography, and sales.

African American Student Council

Students have the opportunity to share their concerns and ideas to ensure that all students at Storm Grove receive the support they need.
